What is this film about? My Home of Thorns is an Australian short drama film that aims to create discussion, and shine a harsh, bright light upon the plague that is domestic violence, and the effect it can have on children. The film follows a young girl, Emily, whose father regularly abuses her mother. Emily dreams of escaping from her home which has become a place of suffering. After a particularly brutal incident, Emily decides to turn her dream into a reality, and starts plotting her escape. With My Home of Thorns, we're aiming to to bring the scourge of domestic violence out of obscurity. To change, there must be a discussion - and we hope that this film will start that discussion. My Home of Thorns will say #NoMore to domestic violence. |

Pre-Production and Funding
Pre-production is well and truly underway for My Home of Thorns. Stay tuned for more information regarding our cast and crew which will be released soon. Our biggest hurdle to getting this film made is funding. We'll be launching a funding campaign soon. The money that is sourced will be used to make the film, and to showcase it at as many film festivals as possible. Any monetary pledge you can make, no matter how large or small, will go a long way to helping make this film happen, and to help spread the message that domestic violence needs to be stopped. |
